How to Apply for a South Korea Student Visa from Nepal: The Full Document Checklist

July 10, 2026 6 min read

Nepali students applying for a South Korea student visa generally work through the same core document set, whether they're headed to a language institute or directly into a degree program. Requirements do shift periodically, so always confirm the current list with your counselor before submission — but this is the checklist we build every file against.

The core documents

A standard application typically includes your passport, a completed visa application form, the Certificate of Admission or Standard Admission Letter from your Korean institution, academic transcripts and certificates, and financial proof — usually a bank statement showing sufficient balance, held for a set period before application.

Where most delays actually happen

The financial documentation is where we see the most avoidable delays. A bank balance that was only deposited days before application, rather than seasoned over the required holding period, is one of the most common reasons for a request for additional evidence. Family sponsorship, if used, needs a clear relationship document and consistent sponsor financial history — not just a lump-sum transfer.

IELTS and its role in the file

If you hold an IELTS certificate, include it even if it isn't strictly mandatory for your program — it strengthens the "genuine student" case and, depending on your institution, can affect your tuition waiver bracket (we cover this in detail in our IELTS scholarship guide).

Our process

We review every document against the specific university's requirements — not a generic checklist — before it goes anywhere near the embassy, because a South Korea file that's inconsistent between the admission letter, financial documents, and visa application form is the fastest way to trigger extra scrutiny.
