What Nepali Families Actually Spend to Send a Student Abroad in 2026

December 8, 2025 8 min read

Every family asks the same question in the first consultation: what will this actually cost, all in? The honest answer varies enormously by destination — often by a factor of five between the most and least expensive options.

The lowest-cost pathways

South Korea and Germany remain the most budget-accessible destinations we support — Korea through IELTS-linked tuition waivers and Germany through largely tuition-free public universities, though Germany's blocked-account requirement means a larger up-front lump sum.

The higher-investment pathways

Australia, the USA, and Canada require significantly larger annual budgets, both in tuition and in the living-cost proof required for visa approval — but also tend to offer the strongest post-study work and PR outcomes for students who can afford the initial investment.

Our advice to families

Use our cost calculator tool for a personalized estimate before committing to a destination — the "best" country is really the one that fits your specific budget and goals, not a universal ranking.
